The Sun Center of Excellence in Object-Oriented Education is located at the Computing Laboratory at the University of Kent, Canterbury, UK (map). The Center is supported by Sun Microsystems.

The Center was established in April 2006.

The goals of the Center of Excellence are to improve and support programming education locally, nationally and world wide. To this end, the Center develops educational programming tools, pedagogocal methods and teaching material to support the teaching of object-oriented programming at all levels.

Part of the objective is also to organise widespread dissemination of the material developed in the Center. This is achieved via direct contact (such as workshops, teaching activities and at conferences) and through the internet. Projects associated with this Center typically have a web presence with further information.
