Teachers from eleven schools attended a successful launch event at the University of Kent. The teachers have all entered teams of pupils into this year's FIRST LEGOŽ League (FLL) competition. The competition is very effective in exciting pupils about topics in Science. This year's theme is 'climate connections'.

At the launch teachers were able to find out more about the challenges for this year's robot game and also about the scientific research project that the pupils will undertake. Teams will work in their schools for the next nine weeks preparing their solutions to the difficult tasks they have been set.

During the last week of November teams will come to the University of Kent to compete in either the Medway or the Kent Regional Final. Winners will be invited to the UK National Finals to be held early in 2009.

The launch event took place on the 11th September at the University of Kent.
