The School of Computing will be hosting a variety of activities at the upcoming University of Kent open-day on Saturday 7th July. Demonstrations showing a variety of research and student projects will run in the
School of Computing building from 9:30am to 3pm, with admissions officers available here and in the sports centre (stand 19) from 9am.
At 11am there will be a panel session in SW101 (Brian Spratt room) for prospective undergraduates and their families. Later at 1:30pm there will be a separate panel session for prospective postgraduate students, also in SW101. Both panel sessions will last at most 1 hour.
From 12:30 to 1pm, senior lecturer Ian Utting will give a talk titled 'The Java Programming Language', taking a brief look at the widely used Java language, its impact on the world and its use at Kent for teaching and in projects such as BlueJ and Greenfoot.
