DESCRIPTION_PHOTO_ROW

The School of Computing will be hosting a variety of activities at the upcoming University of Kent open-day on Saturday 7th July. Demonstrations showing a variety of research and student projects will run in the
School of Computing building from 9:30am to 3pm, with admissions officers available here and in the sports centre (stand 19) from 9am.

At 11am there will be a panel session in SW101 (Brian Spratt room) for prospective undergraduates and their families. Later at 1:30pm there will be a separate panel session for prospective postgraduate students, also in SW101. Both panel sessions will last at most 1 hour.

From 12:30 to 1pm, senior lecturer Ian Utting will give a talk titled 'The Java Programming Language', taking a brief look at the widely used Java language, its impact on the world and its use at Kent for teaching and in projects such as BlueJ and Greenfoot.

Full details on the open day, including maps, directions and booking information can be found here.

Please feel free to contact the school if you have any questions or queries.
