The School of Computing will host a variety of activities at the upcoming University of Kent Open Day on Saturday 6th October. Demonstrations showing a variety of research and student projects will run in the School of Computing building on the Canterbury campus from 9:30am to 3pm, with admissions officers available there and in the sports centre (stand 19) from 9am.
At 11am there will be a panel session in SW101 (Brian Spratt room) for prospective undergraduates and their families, lasting an hour. From 12:30 to 1pm, Head of School Professor Frank Wang will give a talk titled 'Computing towards 2020', which will look at the next generation of computing paradigms and their applications, including Cloud Computing for application acceleration and Green Computing using a new electronic component — the memristor.
