My PhD project is concerned with "Games with a Purpose", a subfield of human computation in which human players solve AI-complete problems as a side effect of participating in games.
In particular, my work looks at how virtual incentives can affect the computational productivity of these games. In evaluating this, I am exploring games with a purpose that deal with computational linguistics and image recognition.
I am a member of the following research groups:
My primary research interest lies in the field of human computation, extending to work in crowd-sourcing and mass collaboration. I'm also very interested in natural language, and how computational linguistics can benefit from human computation.
