My publications are available from the Computer Science department publications repository.
I have been awarded both a Diploma engineer and a Master degree by University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest, Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers. I was particularly interested in neural networks, classification, image processing, and parallel computing.
During my PhD, under the supervision of Dr Dominique Chu, I changed my focus on bio-inspired computation, with a special emphasis on genetic regulatory networks and their biophysical aspects. My background in programming, maths, physics, and computer architecture is an essential tool in my quest to build a genetic arithmetic computing unit.
I am a member of the following research groups:
My technical skills include networking administration (CCNA in 2005) and UNIX/Linux OS, both certified by CISCO Systems diplomas. Currently I am using Ubuntu, which I find a very stable OS and at the same time a very user-friendly one.
Football is one of my biggest passions and hobbies, and I play it every Saturday morning. Moreover, I am very fond of tennis, but unfortunately you can play tennis outdoors only on sunny days.
I found Dune by Frank Herbert a really inspiring melange of environmental knowledge, anthropology, mass psychology, sustainability, military strategies, and politics. This book takes an extraordinary character, but limited by his human nature, and transforms him into a messiah for the masses.
