AISB Convention 2004: Symposium on Affective Computing

Tradional computer science has taken little regard of emotion and mood: interfaces do not often take into account the mood of the user; emotion has been little studied as a source of inspiration for computation problem-solving, despite its vital role in human problem-solving; and characters in computer games and virtual environments are rarely engaging to the user.

The aim of this symposium is to address these issues, considering:

The symposium will take place as part of the 2004 AISB Convention in Leeds, England, which is taking place from the 29th March--1st April. This particular symposium is likely to be towards the end of the convention (31st March--1st April). Further general details of the whole convention can be found here.

Papers addressing the issues above are invited. Please email two page abstracts to aisb@kent.ac.uk by the 30th January 2004. Papers should be in postscript, pdf or Microsoft Word format. Decisions will be made around the beginning of February.
