Responsibilities

There are 4 versions of Me:

  • KITC Coordinator: I run the Kent IT Clinic (KITC) both Canterbury and Medway campus at University of Kent, School of Computing. Kent IT Clinic provides Laptop / Hardware services to staff and students. KITC also provides consultation work to external companies. I work closely with Angela Doe, Bob Kiem, John Crawford, and Andrew Runnells.
  • Teaching: I help in delivering part of the lectures of (Co846) Cloud Computing and help assist (Co880) MSc Projects. I work with Frank Wang, Yang Xiao, Lee.
  • Research: I carry out research in Future Computing Group.
  • International : I help advise in international relationships particularly in Asia Region. I work with Peter Kenny

  • Mostly Machine Learning (BPNN & DTree Hybrid methods)
  • User Behaviour (Desktop Interfaces in HCI, Pattern Recognition)
  • Data mining / warehousing (Efficient applied lightweight databases / Mobile Databases)
  • Interior and Space studies (Including cultural sciences such as Iching / Feng Shui - Ruan Tou/LiQi methods)
  • Memristor based MRRAM design and Applications with the Memristors team

General background

  • BBC (not the one who issues TV license).
  • Lived in Singapore most my life.
  • Hates football, and general ball games (why is everyone after the one ball, just give them one each)
  • General tinkering with gadgets (involving taking them apart and breaking them ultimately)
  • Guinness book of records for longest “Paper chain event 1999/2000/2001” Delusional after 3 days without sleep
