Research Interests
My chief area of interest is computer operating systems.
Personal Information
Privately, I run the IBM OS/2 operating system on my home network, as well as the FreeBSD derivative of UNIX and a number of other operating systems. I have a website covering my OS/2 interests, at http://www.tavi.co.uk/os2pages/.
I maintain the ML/I macro processor, which was originally written by a former member of staff, Professor Peter Brown. I run an associated website at http://www.ml1.org.uk.
I am also interested in vintage IBM personal computers, and have a large collection. My webpage for this is at http://www.tavi.co.uk/ps2pages/. I am a member of the MCA Mafia.
More formally, I am a Chartered Engineer, Chartered IT Professional, European Engineer, Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET), and a Fellow of the British Computer Society (FBCS).
