Statement on Tuition Fee rise and Higher Education cuts

On December 9th, 2010, the House of Commons passed a motion that will see tuition fees for UK and EU students rise to an unprecedented level.

I personally condemn the tuition fee increases, the cuts to the Education Maintenance Allowance, and the proposed 80% cut to the University Teaching Grant. I hope that the School of Computing will affirm its commitment to fostering an open, critically engaged learning environment that is accessible to students from a diverse range of backgrounds.

I also express my commitment to resisting the further and ongoing privatisation of higher education.

Research Interests

I belong to the following research groups:

MPI Resources

  • Tutorial by Piseda and Smith from the University of New Mexico. Quite old now but a good first read for anyone interested in getting to grips with MPI.
  • IBM's Practical MPI Programming by Aoyama and Nakano. Has some introductory material plus a lot of the details.
