This research is part of the EPSRC Garbage Collection for Multicore Systems project led by Richard Jones and Fred Barnes.

The School of Computing at the University of Kent is a thriving, internationally respected research department. Support for all full time research students includes £500 a year to spend on academic conference travel, as well as a PC or laptop on their own desk in a research office. Research students have free access to university facilities such as printing, photocopying, a well provisioned Library and high bandwidth internet links. Their research is performed within well integrated, active research groups which have internal seminars and activities. Students are guided by one to one supervision and have further structured input and advice from a panel of academics. Research students attend teaching development and research issues courses in their first year, and if they wish, can gain professionally and financially by teaching on undergraduate programmes.

Research projects available |
We currently offer a wide variety of research projects suggested by our research groups. However, we welcome research suggestions from you and would be keen to accommodate these if we are able to provide appropriate technical support and expertise. |
Bursaries and Scholarships |
Each year we offer a limited number of bursaries worth up to £12,600 for home and EU applicants, as well as some projects for which more funds are available. We offer a number of fees only bursaries for candidates from any country. |
