Local winners compete in national finals
Two teams from regional finals in Canterbury attended the UK and Ireland finals of the FIRST LEGO(R) League in Loughborough on Saturday 24th January 2009. "The Arrows" from Archers Court Maths & Computing College, Dover, and the "Climate Savers" from Reigate St Mary's School joined 22 other teams from across the country and Ireland in a challenging day of hard fought competition.
Both teams had won an event in Canterbury during November ln teh theme of "Climate Connections". This time they presented their solutions at national level and both were pleased wioth their performances. They also learned a lot from seeing the solutions of other teams and are determined to incorporate these lessons in their training for next year's events.
The overall winners were the "Technobotts" from Bottisham in Cambridgeshire who obtained the astounding maximum score of 400 points in the robotics section of the event. They will be competing in the USA later in the year.
