Key Stage 4 Workshops

We are happy to welcome your students for a fun, educational visit to the Canterbury campus. We will share with students the excitement we feel for the subject of Computer Science in a workshop using the new Greenfoot environment for developing animated Java programs. It has been designed to be motivating for school students. The workshop has been planned to be helpful to KS4 students who are approaching the time when they will be choosing subjects for study post 16. No previous experience with computer programming is required.

You must book in advance for these sessions.

How to book

We are offering sessions during the Spring and Summer 2009.

The visits take place in the Computing Laboratory. You are normally invited to bring up to 15 pupils to a session. Please let us know how many places you need. The sessions often run with two schools each bringing 15 pupils but we can sometimes accommodate a third school if you need less than the 15 places offered.

To book send an email to cs-bookings (at) kent.ac.uk giving the following details:

  • name
  • school
  • email address
  • phone number
  • preferred date
  • number of pupils (max 15)

We will register your request and confirm with you within a week.

The Computing Laboratory is on the Canterbury campus of the University of Kent. It is building E3 on this map. Parking is available in the visitors car park for a small fee.

We look forward to working with you.
