Programming streams for Standard Masters courses

Two streams are available for most of our standard Masters courses to accommodate students with different backgrounds:

  • Introductory stream - CO881 (plus CO882 for some courses)
Aimed at beginners. Assumes no prior knowledge of computer programming.
Also suitable for students with limited knowledge and experience of programming.

  • Advanced stream - CO871
Aimed at students who already have a good working knowledge of at least one programming language (any language).

If you're unsure which stream is right for you please try our self-test for programmers.

Notes

  • Only the advanced stream is available for certain Advanced Masters courses that relate directly to advanced programming.
  • Only the introductory stream is available for the MSc in Biomedical Imaging.
  • Streams are handled differently for International Masters and Pre-Masters courses.

Please see the course web pages or handbooks for which modules are available for your course.
