CO651 Research and Study Skills (15 credits)

Syllabus

There will be weekly 2-hour workshops, normally structured as an introduction followed by student activity (individually or in groups) followed by feedback. Workshops will use subject material from the students' projects wherever possible, and will cover the following:

  • Reflection on meta-cognitive skills
  • Information gathering
  • Introduction to research
  • Topic analysis
  • Writing about research
  • Presenting research
  • Simulation, experimentation and data analysis
