Representational similarity analysis in basic and clinical neuroscience

Abstract: In this talk, I will introduce a kind of MVPA for fMRI and E/MEG data as well as its application in basic and clinical neuroscience. I will firstly introduce the method and its tool supports. Then, some examples on how it can be used to study both visual and auditory systems will be given. In these examples, machine learning and models will be used as a tool to generate hypothesis about neural systems. Our RSA method then was used to relate machine and brain representations. In the rest of the talk, I will talk about how RSA and its related approaches were used to identify early brain changes in middle aged healthy individuals who have increased risk of dementia.
