Simon spent 6 months at NVIDIA on a PhD internship. He worked with the Architecture Research Group developing the NVIDIA memory model for the virtual instruction set (PTX) which targets NVIDIA graphics cards. This talk will cover the experience of working for NVIDIA, as well as the work he did extending the PTX memory model a new concept: _views_ of memory. Views represent different access paths to the same underlying memory locations resulting from specialised graphics and compute load/store instructions available in PTX.
