School of Computing - Security Group Seminar
Speaker: Prof Wojciech Mazurczyk, Warsaw University of Technology

During this talk, first, the main types of data hiding techniques used currently in real-life malware will be characterized and based on this information the present state of advancement of cybercriminals in this area will be outlined. Then, the most recent trends in network covert channels will be described focusing mostly on methods designed for modern services and networking environments. Finally, novel approaches which allow to counter utilization of network data hiding techniques, e.g., dynamic wardens will be presented.
