PhD Project Summary

My PhD is on deception detection and related analytical methods. My deception detection research uses electroencephalography (EEG), the attentional blink, the fringe-P3 method, and custom statistical analyses.

As well as my PhD and MSc in Computer Science researching deception detection, I have a background in Psychology (BSc Psychology and MSc Cognitive Psychology/Neuropsychology) researching the cross-race effect in face recognition for eyewitness testimony.


I have taught classes and/or marked assessments for the following modules:

  • CO883 Systems Architecture (Masters)
  • CO885 Project Research (Masters)
  • CO886 Software Engineering (Masters)

Outreach Work

I regularly help with the UCAS open days for the School of Computing and present my research to the applicants, usually in a mini-lecture format but occasionally as a poster presentation. I have also been a table judge for the FIRST LEGO League.
