Future of Eutropians |
|
As you probably all know I am going to have a baby soon. Life is getting pretty hectic at home and at work in the lead up to my maternioty leave, so I have not been able to log in as often as I like.
The initial purpose of this society was to keep in contact with a group of friends... most of the original friends are not around any more (for various reasons) and new friends come and go (we have lost Smoeble, Kyl and Kaboom in the last week). Another aim of the society was to help new players get started. But of all the new players we have recruited we only have 2 or 3 that have remained active.
So I think we need to consider the future of the society. I would like to step down as CEO as I do not feel I can give it the time it requires. I will of course still be around, but I think that we need someone with time to organise events; and who is online more often with help and advice. I am also aware that there are many players who are more active & experienced than me. I will of course still be around to help as much as I can.
So... any thoughts?
Is it worth keeping the society alive? Should we find new societies to join? If we want to stay what do we want to see more of? The treasure hunt was great, shold we try and arrange more event and team hunts and noob teleport runs? Is anyone interested in being CEO?
Please let me know what you think...

One thing I'd like to see more of is society group hunting. I really enjoy these, but due to lack of people online I tend to meet up with strangers at CP. This is cool, but it's rarely the same people, so you don't get to build up any kind of relationship.
I'm not sure about the future of the society. I like it here, and the aims seemed good when I've joined. But it's become so quietly recently - maybe that's just the "summer thing" though

Losing members, specialy Kyl was a great loss...
I think that this society is too good to die... I don't know about other societys, but I have never encountered such fine and nice people... only the atmosphere kept me visiting in PE, when I had no money or sweat, (sweating SUCKS btw...) and when I did poor mans mining trips, with no loot nor resources. So IF Red is ready to step down from the CEO seat, I'm willing to become a next CEO, If there isn't any other richer and/or experienced player to take the "crown" of CEO...
And I have idea... Soc war! Two societys Ours and some friendly society... It can bring us more members... we agree some "missions" or "jobs" with the other soc, example Kill certain person for reward, "he is curently in this or this location...." n00bs get some old Jester or MPH for a TT prize or free, If they want to advance to better "Mission" (or a "job") they need to buy better weapons from action or some trader (or from the own Soc)... and we also could create a good trade network (bullet has, some times ago, mentioned about this network idea)... general stuff trader would be good place to start with... one person who could trade cheap inside the soc, like Red but in larger scale.
Good idea? Bad idea?

hiya,
like you noticed i`ve been not often online lately, thats because i`ve reactiveated my Neocron Account, same as most of my Clanies, and we re going to probably make a comeback there again, doesnt mean i stop EU, but not as often, reason for that too; almost out of cash .
And for the record, there have always been clans, most of them don`t last forever, we saw many build, they were large, and same fast they broke.
The EuTropians is similar to my used clan, we are about 15 ppl since 2k2, there came many and joined, and same many left, its just the core, that remains, its not bad to be a small clan. Just to loose not everyone out of sight, who went on, to something else, we`re using since all this time, the same Teamspeak server, just for chatting.... Thats a place where everyone can come,no need to log into any games..
And btw: next week is 3rd International Clan meeting

Err, In a way, losing members...
Our future is Bleak...
YET, as chen said... The soc will still last... the core was Kyl and Red
That core will be passed down to someone else.. and the soc will live on!
Other then that I was going to leave at one point but stayed in soc:)
So I will still be here for a while

Just for record... I'll stay in soc, even if there would be only 2 members!
