WWW PAGE DESIGN - FORM & FUNCTION
Tuesday 17 November 1998 17.00 Brian Spratt Room

Adam Warren
Educational Technologist,
University of Southampton

I shall be looking at three aspects of design that affect the usability of a Web site:

  • the visual design - how to make your pages easy to read
  • the interface design - how to make it easy for your users to find their way around the site
  • the structural design - how to make it easy for your users to find the information they need

Three case studies (the good, the bad and the ugly) will be considered.

I then look at technical issues about controlling text, page layout and images, as well as designing for a wide audience.
