These are excellent web resources which are really useful for
choosing colour schemes:

A terrific interactive colour picker allowing you to choose from a colour
wheel and generate colour schemas (eg monochromatic, complement, split
complements, etc), and allowing you to cater for different types of
colour deficiency.

An even more
terrific interactive colour picker which, amongst other things, allows
you to generate swatches from a base colour varying by H S & L -
brilliant for creating subtle shades. Very useful when you want
to create subtle colour effects.
- Web Color Gallery

A large
collection of 3- and 4-colour swatches of different themes for use on
websites created by a graphic designer, handy for when you want a
colour scheme for a particular effect quickly. Also handy for
showing to clients and asking them to pick a colour scheme they like.
