I don't think it's very fair that we lose marks if we leave sessions early and have to do everything a week in advance, not all of us have the privilege of living on campus and have to have a part time job as well so cannot fit in the time. Commuting from far takes up a lot of time and so does hcaving to get back to go to work. Why can't we have the work marked outside the class
It isn't actually a case of doing the work 'in advance'. The exercises are set to be done in a particular week, and the class setting then provides an opportunity to have them marked. If the work has all been done, then you can leave early, but if not then you are in the right place to work further on it and get assistance if you need it. The fact that the work is available to be done in advance of the class means that you can fit it in around your other work commitments.
It's still the same amount of work whether you do the work in the current week or you work a week behind.
The idea of the extra week is to give people who are working a little slower a bit more time to complete it. There might be all sorts of reasons why more time is needed, and we are not taking that away from those who are making full use of the classes. So, there isn't any element of 'unfairness' about the revised arrangements.
