Exam

The exam is intended to test if the students understand the concepts and techniques presented on the course. Thus they are asked to describe concepts and to apply techniques on modest examples.

The Information Systems part of the course is examined by asking for a number of short descriptions of concepts described in those lectures. The database section is tested with three longer questions, of which two have to be attempted. Unlike the coursework, it is important not to make the questions unified. Asking a question which involves producing an ER diagram and then the tables from it I quickly found to be fatal, since the options for the tables are heavily dependent on the ER diagram.
