Formative and Summative Assessment

There are two assessments for this module, but on a weekly basis students are given opportunities to participate in activities. During and at the end of these activities, students are assessed individually and participate in tutorials. Formative assessment is critical so that learners can gauge the quality of their own work. The tutor will assess the learner in order to monitor progress. However the learner may not be aware that assessment is taking place and may view assessment as merely the end product of the module.

For the Interface Design module there are two graded assessments: A report of approximately 2400 words, which represent 60% of the overall grade and a practical task which represents the remaining 40%.

This section of the portfolio is about the assessment requirements and also shows examples of the students' work.
