Welcome to our new computing students
The School of Computing hosted an undergraduate reception for new computing students on the first afternoon of welcome week. Here, students were able to meet fellow students on their course and chat to computing staff. The reception is one of many events in a packed timetable designed to help students feel at home, to become familiar with their subject School and to settle in to university life in general.
As well as meeting their tutor, who will provide both academic and welfare support throughout their time at Kent, students can attend lots of other welcome week events including Cool Stuff in Computer Science, a hands-on, fun session, programming Lego Robots and a talk by Roy Warden from the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
Janet Carter, Director of Stage 1, said:
" We are pleased to welcome our new students and hope they enjoy their time with us. "
The reception took place in the School of Computing quadrangle on 21 September 2009.
