Digital TV makes possible to verify a fenomenum known as digital convergence, that corresponds to the union of Medias (audio and video), Computing (data processing, execution of applications, etc.) and Communication (data transmission through a communication network). Besides the improvement on the audio and video quality in relation to the Analogic TV, the Digital TV brings the possibility of executing applications that can access Internet, like e-commerce and home banking applications, for example, bringing the necessity of protecting some information that are sent by these applications, e.g., the credit card number. This work, developed as a part of the Brazilian Digital TV System, specifies a security model for the interactive channel of Digital TV, considering the processing and storage constraints on the Set-Top Box (STB), device responsible for receiving, decoding, storaging and processing data and applications sent by the Digital TV network, and the Internet access as well, usually achived by using a modem inside the device. An implementation of this model is also presented, in the sense of showing the feasibility and reliability of the model.
