Computer Science Web site Style
The CSWeb style is incorporated into all CSWeb web pages to re-inforce a coporate identity and to present a coherent set of web pages with a consistent navigation scheme. It gives users a sense of where they are and helps infer a level of authentication about the material they are accessing. Without the style, the web site would quickly become anarchic and disjoint and leave users very confused.
The CSWeb style consists of the following elements
- Navigation Bar
- Provides links to all the main areas of the web site.
- Side Bar
- Reinforces the coporate identity and acts as an indicator of the user's location within the web site.
- Page Title and Crest
- Reinforces the coporate identity.
- House style sheet elements
- The CSWeb style sheet contains the style definitions for a number of elements within a web page including headings, bold text and the house colours.
To incorporate the house style into the web pages, always build your web pages using a CSWeb build script.
