Attractive, friendly and vibrant campuses

Our Canterbury campus is situated in parkland in the midst of the Kent countryside on a hill overlooking the city. It combines modern architecture with open green spaces, courtyards, gardens, ponds, woodland and a picturesque view across Canterbury and the Stour Valley. There are shops, cafes, bars, a cinema, theatre, music venue and nightclub. The city is within walking distance.

A new purpose-built graduate college provides accommodation for Master's students and serves as a focus for the wider postgraduate community, supporting academic and social activities.

Our students come from almost every country in the world and more than half are female. There are over 150 student societies and sports clubs from archery to volleyball, from chess to sci-fi, from jazz to rock, from break dancing to salsa.

Extensive sports facilities include a gym and cardio theatre, climbing wall, squash courts, an artificial "3G" football pitch and a new sports pavilion.

Vibrant and modern, the Medway campus has innovative buildings and facilities and excellent transport links. At Medway you can expect outstanding teaching, learning and leisure. Close to the River Medway, the campus houses award-winning buildings and brand new facilities, and has an exciting social life with a strong sense of community.

Safe and convenient locations

Canterbury has good transport links to London (1 hour by train) and is situated conveniently for the Eurostar rail service to Paris (2 hours by train from Ashford). Medway is less than 20 minutes to London by train.

Canterbury has the lowest crime rate of any university city in England and Wales (The Complete University Guide 2012).

Medway has many historic naval and literary links, and was once home to Charles Dickens.

Degree ceremonies take place in the historic setting of Canterbury Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Medway students graduate in Rochester Cathedral, the second oldest cathedral in England.
