Congratulations to our School of Computing Poster Fair Prize winners

Final year students from the School of Computing celebrated their final year projects at the School of Computing Virtual Poster Fair on Friday 19 March 2021, with several student groups awarded prizes sponsored by local companies and partners.

The poster fair and prizegiving ceremony was attended by over 200 people throughout the day, and prizes were awarded based on the students’ posters and abstracts.

We are pleased to announce the following prize winners:

The prize for the Most Innovative use of Modern Technology, sponsored by IDR Solutions, was awarded to James Batchelor, Harry Bittan, Karun Sehmi, Ethan Oswold and Justinas Pocevicius (all BSc (Hons) Computer Science) for their project Housemate App, supervised by Dr Kemi Ademoye

The Most Original/Unique Project prize, sponsored by HRGO Recruitment, was awarded to Charlie Letts (BSc (Hons) Computer Science with a Year in Industry) for MeRadio: Automated Radio Podcast Generation from Facebook Feeds for People with Dementia, supervised by Dr Chee Siang Ang

The prize for the Most innovative Project Applying Research to a Potential Commercial Application, sponsored by EIRA, was awarded to Emmanuel Molefi (BSc (Hons) Computer Science for Health with a Year in Industry) for his research project entitled Motion Sickness Reduction through Vibro-motor Reprocessing Therapy, supervised by Dr Palaniappan Ramaswamy.

The Best Poster prize, sponsored by the School of Computing and voted for by staff, students and sponsors was awarded to Conor Finn and Alice Jaffray (both BSc (Hons) Computer Science with a Year in Industry) for their poster Sherlocked – Serious Cyber Security: Building Games to Educate University Students about Security, supervised by Dr Jason Nurse.
