School opens its doors on Saturday 12 July

The School of Computing will host a variety of activities at the upcoming University of Kent Open Day on Saturday 5th October. Demonstrations showing a variety of research and student projects will run in the School of Computing building on the Canterbury campus from 9:00 to 15:00, with admissions officers available there and in the sports centre from 9:00.

There will be a panel session in Cornwallis SW101 (Brian Spratt room) in the Cornwallis building, for prospective undergraduates and their families at 11:00, where any questions about university life and studying Computer Science will be answered.

A postgraduate panel discussion will take place in Cornwallis S110b at 11:15 with staff available to answer questions about Master’s programmes offered in the School.

Demonstrations on Lego robotics will be available in Sw101 from 9:30-11:00 and again from 12:30-15:00. A variety of demonstrations will be on display in SW103 these include greenfoot, security research, security software, the makerspace and final year student projects.

A talk on the ‘Internet of Things’ at 12:30 in SW101 completes the day’s activities.
