The School of Computing will welcome four new members of staff who will be teaching from September 2020. Three were members of staff who were previously in the School of Engineering and Digital Arts and have a background in computing. They are Gareth Howells, Chee Siang (Jim) Ang and Christos Efstratiou. We will also be welcoming Dr Kemi Ademoye who joins us from University of Wales Trinity St Davids.

Helen Frampton has also recently joined the School as Administrative Coordinator for the Kent Interdisciplinary Research Centre in Cyber Security (KirCCS), supporting the work of the cyber security team.

The staff leaving soon are Angie Allen, Jacqueline Chetty, Sally Fincher, Peter Kenny, Andy King, Julien Lange, Siân Robson, Ian Utting and Mark Wheadon.

Head of School, Peter Rodgers said, ‘It is a strange time for anyone to be either joining or leaving the School of Computing. We offer a warm welcome to our new staff and I’m sure our students will too. It’s sad that, given the current Covid situation, that we cannot have a proper send off for the staff who are leaving, but we shall invite them all back for a celebration of their time at the University when circumstances allow. These staff have served the School and the University in an exemplary manner and several have been part of the School for decades, working their best for us in good times and bad. They deserve our appreciation and thanks.’
