Results
There are reasons for thinking that these should always be better than other courses, mostly since the students will have practiced some of the concepts in their electives and so reach the exam with a deeper understanding than had the exam been mid year. In my opion, this is the telling reason for never having mid year exams.
This year, the coursework was generally performed well, while the results on the exam were mixed with some students performing very well while others did very poorly. I will return to this under general observations.
