The Transactions on Mathematical Software (TOMS) is part of the family of journals produced by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).

The ACM TOMS Replicated Computational Results (RCR) Initiative.

ACM TOMS has introduced a new initiative to optionally review the computationals results of a TOMS submission. This new effort is intended to assist in improving the quality of scientific publication for TOMS and for the computational science community as a whole. Manuscripts that successfully complete the RCR Review process receive the RCR designation when published. If you are interested in participating in this initiative, either as an author or reviewer, please contact the TOMS Editor-in-Chief. Details of the TOMS RCR Initiative are available here.

Important Changes to ACM's Publishing Policies.

New options for ACM authors to manage rights and permissions for their work: ACM introduces a new publishing license agreement, an updated copyright transfer agreement, and a new author-pays option which allows for perpetual open access through the ACM Digital Library. For more information, visit the ACM Author Rights webpage.

Author-Izer Service.

ACM's new Author-Izer is a unique service that enables ACM authors to generate and post links on either their home page or institutional repository for visitors to download the definitive version of their articles from the ACM Digital Library at no charge.

Downloads from these sites are captured in official ACM statistics, improving the accuracy of usage and impact measurements. Consistently linking to definitive version of ACM articles should reduce user confusion over article versioning.

Visit the Author-Izer Service webpages for details on how to access this exciting facility.

Online Manuscript Submission.

All processing of manuscripts for editorial review by TOMS, including submission of manuscripts and revisions by authors, and submission of reports by referees, is now done online via Manuscript Central. See the TOMS Information for Authors for further details.

ACM Digital Library.

Visit the ACM Digital Library, a vast resource of bibliographical information, citations, and full-text articles. Tables of contents and search facilities are free and open to the public. Access to full text is restricted to subscribers.

Contents

The Transactions on Mathematical Software publishes one volume yearly. Each volume is comprised of four issues. Issues are posted in the ACM Digital Library as soon as they are assembled. Print distribution of issues occurs quarterly, in March, June, September and December.
