Back to list of 2001/02 seminars Abstract for Seminar
The use of sensor information may make computing and communications systems more responsive to the real world - a technique sometimes called Sentient Computing. The generation of precise location information for objects and personnel within buildings requires very specific measurement systems. The talk will describe how a building can be instrumented to provide such information, the applications that follow, and the performance and adaptation constraints that have to be met.
