VRML gallery
This is a gallery of solutions to the VRML tasks set in recent years. The models selected here are some of those that I found interesting or amusing. This may be because they demonstrate good coding technique (such as the use of prototypes), they use 'advanced' features of VRML well, they exhibit complex and entertaining movement, they are visually appealing or simply because they made me laugh.2008/9
The Autumn term 2009 task was to develop a robot arm in x3d or VRML.
2007/8
The Autumn term 2008 task was to develop a game in VRML, e.g. a puzzle, maze, board-game, platform-game, with some form of interactivity.
2006/07
The Spring term 2007 task was to produce an animated orrery (a model of a planetary system). Each of the examples below has been chosen either for its quality of modelling, its quality of coding or both. The examples have been labelled with a texture used in their implementation (better images would be gratefully received).
2002/03
The Michaelmas term 2002 task set was to produce a game in VRML with some
kind of interactivity.
2001/02
The task set was to produce a VRML model of a person and animate some part of it.
In particular, the model was to be hierarchical, have jointed limbs and demonstrate good coding technique.
