UNIX: Setting your password¶
Logging on: Undergraduate or Postgraduate¶
Before you can use your CS UNIX host, you first need to set up your password. To do this, visit the account activation page:
You will be prompted for your Kent username and password. If you don't have these go and sort that out first. You will also need your student number handy (it's on your student card).
Fill in the details on the page, and choose a password. If your details are not accepted you will be told why and advised what to do next.
Resetting your password: Undergraduate or Postgraduate¶
The link above can also be used to reset your password if you've forgotten it.
Logging on: Staff¶
You can pick up your password by contacting us at the address below. Once logged on to the machine please change your password by typing:
passwd
